Optional wavelengths including 1490, 1625, and 1650 nm enable non-intrusive testing on live fiber, ensuring uninterrupted operation of active communication links. This flexibility allows the device to adapt to a wide range of network environments, from backbone infrastructure to tactical and temporary field deployments.
- Equipped with USB-A, USB-C, Ethernet, and Bluetooth interfaces, the F7 integrates easily with external devices such as inspection probes, storage media, and control terminals. Intelligent auto-analysis enhances result reliability and system integrity, while detailed reports in SOR and PDF formats provide clear event mapping and pass/fail evaluation—supporting fast decision-making in time-critical operations.
OTDR Testing
Supports up to four wavelengths.
The event map automatically identifies events including connectors, splices, bends, and splitters. Features macro-bend analysis, and four-point/LSA curve analysis. Configurable start/end fibers with customizable threshold detection.

OLS and OPM
Light source supports CW, 270 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz modulation.
Wide optical power meter measurement range (+70 dBm to +26 dBm), supports multi-wavelength identification.
VFL
The 650 nm VFL provides continuous, 1 Hz, and 2 Hz modulation modes with output power ≥10 mW. It visually locates fiber breaks, macrobends, poor connections, and faulty jumpers in tactical field lines.

Military & Defense Fiber Network Applications

Military Backbone & Border Fiber Link Maintenance
Military communication networks often rely on long-distance optical fiber links deployed across border regions, remote monitoring stations, radar sites, and command infrastructure. The F7 OTDR supports long-haul fiber testing and helps maintenance teams quickly identify fiber breaks, splice loss, connector degradation, and bending events.
Tactical Communication Facilities & Data Center Fiber Inspection
Modern military communication facilities and tactical data centers require stable, low-loss optical connections to support mission-critical data transmission. The F7’s ultra-short dead zone and high-resolution event analysis help technicians accurately inspect dense fiber links, patch panels, racks, and short jumper connections.
Emergency Fiber Restoration for Field Communication Systems
The compact and portable F7 enables fast fiber fault location and troubleshooting in field communication systems. One-click automatic testing and real-time trace analysis help technicians quickly identify faults and reduce network downtime.
Frequently Asked Questions
The F7 uses militarygrade optical detectors and intelligent noise reduction to suppress interference. Its rugged, drop, dust, and waterresistant structure works in -10℃ to 50℃. The large 8-inch touchscreen supports glove operation in extreme conditions. Highprecision algorithms and calibration ensure stable loss and distance readings, reducing false alarms in field defense applications.
Builtin 15600 mAh lithium-battery provides up to 12 hours. Multiple power saving modes (auto screen off, auto power off) extend field use. It supports DC 12–19 V charging and vehicle power adapters, eliminating downtime during border and field operations.
Yes. The SM1 model supports singlemode (1310/1550 nm) and multimode (850/1300 nm) wavelengths. Multiple models cover standard, longhaul, and PON applications. Users select models based on fiber type and wavelength to test base stations, data centers, and tactical links without multiple instruments, improving efficiency.
OTDR data saves as standard SOR files or PDF reports which include waveforms, event lists, parameters, operator info, and project details. Files store in internal memory or U/TF cards. Data is exported via USBC, Ethernet, or Bluetooth.
